New vaccination calendar in Catalonia

Just yesterday was published in the DOGC (and therefore in force from today), the new vaccination schedule, which includes many new features.

Most importantly, both the pneumococcal and chickenpox vaccines are being funded by the public health system. This inclusion will result in higher vaccination rates than when it had to be paid, and therefore the vaccination schedule can be simplified from 4 to 3 doses.

Another novelty is the disappearance of vaccination at 6 and 18 months, unifying them at 11 months. This will fit the new meningococcal B vaccine, which I told you about a few months ago.

Finally, the hepatitis A vaccine, which was given in schools in the 6th grade of primary school, will be given by paediatricians at 12 months and 6 years of age. Those who are older than this age will still be placed in schools.
